Hello there! My name is Kai Lin. Thanks for viewing my website.
As a designer, I never stop observing the world around us and questioning why the things are the way they are. This curiosity often leads to great discoveries, allowing me to build innovative and meaningful product experiences for people.
I'm currently an industrial designer at ION Design, creating both physical and digital products for clients ranging from large corporations to start-ups. Before joining ION, I had the opportunity to intern at one of the most honored design consultancies Smart Design and was involved in the development of several products from medical device to wearable.
During my study at Pratt institute, I initiated several projects that challenge the way we look at the role of design in our society. Last year one of my projects KLIPPA, a mountain goat-inspired prosthesis, was awarded the national finalist of James Dyson Award. My work has also been featured on numerous online publications, including Core77, Wired UK, Slate, Gizmodo, Dezeen and Adobe Student.
When I’m not designing, I’m either riding my bike or drawing portraits with blue markers.
